Good Enough DIY Memo Wall Boards
I finally finished MiniMe’s room to good enough. I can live it until after gardening season is over in the fall. This will leave me time to be patient while I wait for the perfect queen size french bed, nightstand, and chair to match her room. Anyone got an old curvy wing back chair I can paint or try recovering? I can barter for some organizing, purging or decorating advice. I’m handy too, just saying. I will write up the tips, tricks and lessons learned later. I still need to get the Easter Decor completed, yes I’m still tinkering, and yes Babu has told me I have ” a problem”. For now here is the final result, I hoped for a Home Decorator magazine clean and tidy room, but she will be 25 before I can achieve it and she is 10 now. Please excuse the mess. 🙂 Have a great week Lovies, I had a cortisone shot in my foot Thursday and hope to be on the pavement next Saturday!

Lola’s Easter Porch
Posted: 2013/03/15 | Author: Lola | Filed under: Decorating | Tags: Easter Porch, egg wreath, golden retriever statue with chick nest, PInterest | Leave a commentThis is my first pass. In case you don’t know I usually end up tinkering with my initial decor. This needs either a bigger bunny statue or perhaps I need to put up the tree topiary and full it with fuzzy chicks?!! Chances are also good I will get busy and leave it the heck alone until next year. I’ve tweaked the indoor decor a bit too. More pics to come.
Easter Decorating 2013: Bunny Shit Crazy

Somewhere in my cloudy memory I’ve always held a mental image of a white painted iron rabbit sitting on a hearth. I’ve always decorated for Easter, but this year I actually made an attempt to fill the house more so it could carry over into Spring. Somehow I got it into my head I would do Bunnies. It was very likely the multiple brain washing trips I’ve made to Micheal’s Hobby Lobby, and Joann etc over the last few months as I take on more projects than I can ever possibly finish…manic much? I blame Pinterest for this girl’s mania. It’s evil sent me minion style on a lengthy and expensive quest for the perfect bunnies, and chicks, and eggs, and ooh look turtles are back in fashion and well….the end result is here. I played a lot of yes, no, maybe so as I decorated this year because almost everything was new. It was exhausting and I hope to not repeat another ridiculous quest of decorating until June when I am hosting the welcome new alumna sorority event slash wine tasting party…on a weeknight, in Indiana. Yes, shutting up, you’re right, I freaking love it. I tried to get a chick and a nest in every area and at the end of the effort I am supremely pleased with myself. I’m considering taking on the porch next. For now I have tzatziki (I have no clue how to spell that and no desire to look it up) to make because my lovely Babu is making me Greek for dinner. Happy Spring is coming…right after the 6″ of snow this week. I tried for way longer than I’d like to get these in a good order, I’m over it Lovies! Have a great week.

This is the truth: Soul Mates
Posted: 2013/02/28 | Author: Lola | Filed under: Quotes | Tags: long term relationships, quotes about communication, Quotes about soul mates, This is the truth | 1 CommentThis is the truth, or so it seems I was saying less eloquently the other day. Babu and I have been working through some pretty profound communication issues. I suppose 15 years later is never too late when you have the the rest of your life to figure it out. Relationships are hard Lovies, it really does take work and being truly you in your communication of your needs. I’ve always wanted a partner who sharpened me and I thought I had one once. I am absolutely certain I will have one again.
Fearlessly be yourself; life, love, and God / the universe will take you where you are meant to go. Try not to miss the journey, it lives in the moment to moment.
Best,
Laura
