Adventures in Decorating: Halloween 2013 Final Pics

I’m glad I remembered Halloween was Thursday!  Here are the final set of pics for our lawn and house.

I tried to put where i got things in case you are inspired to do some last minute decorating and shopping.

I’ve enjoyed the house this month, but I’m ready to have a clear house again for a few short weeks before Holiday Decorating.

My camera ( ahem, the photographer struggles as well) can never get good pics of the yard decor at night, so I had a friend who is a great photographer give it a try.

Check her out!

All of the outside shots in this post are hers, she made my yard look great even though her talents are put to much better use on people!

Adventures in Decorating: Halloween 2013 yard during day

We did a sort of cross country racing spiders with ghosts watching this year. The ribbons are supposed to denote teams and give the display some shine and depth during the day. I’m super happy with the white pumpkins and spiders under Fetch. Not so pleased with the wood spider parts sticking out of the other white pumpkin. Something may have to be done with that corner. We have lights for a start and finish line and displays on both sides of the driveway this year. I also used tomatoe cage say stakes to hold up slightly diagonal old still screwed together raised garden bed diver boards. They made cool web light back drops and look old and rustic because they need to be torn apart and thrown away. Yeah repurposing. I also used garden flower stakes to hold up some of the taller fuzzy spiders and to keep them anchored to the ground and in less danger of blowing away. Inside is done minus one banner and putting it all alway. More posts and pics to come

Adventures in Decorating: Upcycled Halloween front door wreath

20131014-144512.jpg

The frame used to be a clock. It quit working, so I tore it apart and painted the frame white to stand out on the dark brown front door. The silver web is a placemat from Meijer spray adhesived on. The sparkly orange spider was a cardboard hanging ornament from Walmart. I spray adhesived it on to the web. The fuzzy spiders I got for 75 cents a piece on 90% clearance when a local boutique went out of business. I plan to leave the frame on year round and maybe mount it to the door.
