Posted: 2014/01/02 | Author: Lola | Filed under: Decorating | Tags: kids playroom | Leave a commentWe had the Pottery Barn Cameron shelves painted white and moved both desks into the playroom. It’s not done yet but here is the progress so far.

Adventures in Decorating: It’s a simple Red and White Christmas
Posted: 2013/12/23 | Author: Lola | Filed under: Decorating, Fearlessly Be Yourself | Tags: real tree, Red and White Christmas Theme, Red and White Holiday Decor, Simple Christmas | 1 Comment
My Favorite Christmas Decoration. My Godmother’s Nativity Set.
I kept it very easy this year. Red, White, a little bit of silver. The new polka dot ribbon is velvet, such a nice change for my glitter torn hands. The secret to the mesh in the tree is to really shove it in there. The silver little tress were $1 at Dollar Tree and the sparkly snowflakes will stay in our house until Valentine’s Day. I forgot to take pics of the bathroom, but it’s got the Grinch bobble-head in it again for when the holiday spirit is hard to muster! I took a leap and wrapped the presents to match the decor this year. Hobby Lobby’s wrapping paper is the best and I’m never buying anything else. I’m publishing the pics rough and I’ll come back and arrange and provide details later, I have some last minute presents to wrap Lovies. I hope you and yours have an amazing, joyous and wonderful Christmas and Holiday Season!
Best,
Laura

Adventures in Decorating: The Delta Zeta Turtle Xmas tree
Posted: 2013/12/10 | Author: Lola | Filed under: Decorating | Tags: Delta Zeta Christmas tree, pink and green ornament table scape, pink and green turtle tree | Leave a commentThe rest of the house is fairly simple this year. Red , white and silvery color scheme. Not a lot of mesh or sparkly beaded garland. I wanted to have one thing that was. Little wild and crazy. I’m hosting the local alumnae group Christmas party this year so I decided to do a pink and green table scape and tree this year. I saved all my turtle ornaments for the dining room and kept the green to a minimum so the pink would blend with the room. I lie the Dr. Seuss esque fuzzy line green and pink chenille swirly balls so I put them all on the table scape and really layered on the white and pink underlights. I may add more tithe dining table come party time. But for now it’s my Delta Zeta tree and table.
