Adventures in Decorating: The Delta Zeta Turtle Xmas tree

The rest of the house is fairly simple this year. Red , white and silvery color scheme. Not a lot of mesh or sparkly beaded garland. I wanted to have one thing that was. Little wild and crazy. I’m hosting the local alumnae group Christmas party this year so I decided to do a pink and green table scape and tree this year. I saved all my turtle ornaments for the dining room and kept the green to a minimum so the pink would blend with the room. I lie the Dr. Seuss esque fuzzy line green and pink chenille swirly balls so I put them all on the table scape and really layered on the white and pink underlights. I may add more tithe dining table come party time. But for now it’s my Delta Zeta tree and table.

Adventures in Decorating: The lights are up

Babu and I took advantage of the warm night before the coming snow storm and got the rest of of the lights up on the porch and across the front garden. The two metal topiaries I wrapped in lights to look like trees. One has cutting from Martha places inside it to add more green and one is the ivy I am training. Porch isn’t done for decorating but I am getting there. Pictures of the window boxes in daylight are pending. Happy Holidays.

Adevntures in Decorating: Meet Martha

Every year we get a live tree. The biggest fattest tree we can find. Every year The Destroyer names the tree. This year he named her Martha, our first “girl” tree. In spite of scaling back the progress has been slow this year. Iv’e got more done than this but here is the tree progress so far. I figured out the deco mesh looks best when pushed back into the tree and not swooped or puffed in any way. How are your holiday decorations coming?

Adventures in Decorating: Cheap DIY outdoor swags

Remember last year when I got an old artificial Xmas tree for free from someone? This year I used the branches from it for my Christmas outdoor coach lamp garage swags and I’ve also got them tucked into the window boxes! The theme this year is red, white and some silver with snowflakes. How is your holiday decorating coming along? Any neat ideas you’ve seen lately?
Happy Holidays
Laura

Adventures in Decorating: Xmas wreath idea

The tree is going in front of the long window this year. I wanted something behind it to lengthen it out visually. But you could use it for any frame wreath combo
